Candela
Candela develops a new type of electric ship with better performance than fossil-fuelled vessels. The company’s hydrofoil technology combines long range electricity with high speed – for the first time at sea. The ships fly above the water surface, reducing energy consumption by 80 %. Swell and environmental impact are minimised, while passengers may enjoy a quieter and more comfortable journey above the waves. In addition, operating costs are significantly lower compared to today’s vessels, favouring the transition to sustainable transport. Southeast Asia is highly dependent on ferry traffic, both publicly in major cities to relieve the road network and privately in connection with tourism, hotel transfers, etc.
