BAPSEA-delegation visit to Malaysia; showcase Swedish innovative technologies at the IGEM
October several BAPSEA-companies along with the Swedish Energy Agency and Business Sweden exhibited Swedish technical innovations at IGEM- the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia.
The IGEM was an opportunity to present Swedish innovative technology that can help fasten Southeast Asian countries’ transition to fossil fuel free economies.
No transition comes without challenges but as leading “small” countries within respective regions, Malaysia and Sweden are well suited to work together on advancing renewable energy and stable grids. This was one of the conclusions that emerged from discussions held at a high-level roundtable with the Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysia Energy Commission, Federation of Malaysia Manufacturing, Malaysia Association of Energy Services, and Tenaga Nasional. The roundtable was headed by Swedish Ambassador H.E. Mr Niklas Wiberg and MIDA CEO Mr Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid.
