First batch companies admitted to new programme in Southeast Asia

The Swedish Energy Agency’s new ‘Business Accelerator Programme Southeast Asia’ is now kicking off, welcoming 11 Swedish SMEs with export-ready energy solutions spanning forestry, wind and wave power, and energy and operational efficiency.

The Business Accelerator Program Southeast Asia (BAPSEA) is a tailor-made programme to help and support Swedish Small and medium sized enterprises (SME) to enter and expand in Southeast Asia. The programme includes countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

During the first delegation trip this autumn, companies will meet with businesses, government officials and investors from the region to explore and understand the market and present their solutions and products. Through workshops, seminars and customised consulting services via Business Sweden, companies will also gain deeper insights into the energy markets in Southeast Asia, while receiving guidance on how to identify growth opportunities specific to the region.

We look forward to supporting the selected companies on their journey in Southeast Asia. There are good opportunities for Swedish technology to development globally, as well as for Swedish environmental technology companies to grow and create jobs in Sweden. We hope that the programme will provide good ideas and knowledge for their development in a dynamic region, says Paul Westin, Senior Business Developer International Markets at the Swedish Energy Agency.

In the spring of 2023, the Swedish Energy Agency opened applications for the programme and 11 companies have been  accepted into the start-up of the accelerator programme. Participation in the programme is free of charge and all that is required on the company side is a strong energy and sustainability profile and the ambition and resources to work towards entering Southeast Asia.

The 11 companies accepted to the programme are: Affectus, BPC Instruments, CoolSaver, Cetasol, Gomero, Hexicon, Katam Technologies, Primozone Productions, Seatwirl, Unipower, and Waves4Power.
