Sweden-Indonesia Sustainability Platform Showroom inaugurated in Jakarta
Indonesia is the 4th largest country in the world by population, with more than 260 million inhabitants, and is the largest economy in the ASEAN-region. Its growing consumer segment and young workforce population offer vast opportunities for continued economic growth, and Indonesia is forecasted to become the 5th largest economy in the world by 2035.
Given those factors, Indonesia tends to be one of the more prominent focus markets for Swedish companies in Southeast Asia. The Sweden-Indonesia Sustainability Partnership (SISP) is a platform to drive government collaboration and business partnerships towards the Sustainable Development Goals. With the joint efforts of Team Sweden, the SISP partnership will contribute to the green transition, innovative solutions, digital development, and improved healthcare, thus creating new employment opportunities in modern sectors.
With a G2G agreement of collaboration between companies and government agencies, Sweden is committed to bring technical solutions, expertise, and investments to Indonesia in support of Agenda 2030 and with the goal of winning new business opportunities for Swedish companies. Both countries have committed to ambitious climate goals. Therefore, green and sustainable solutions on energy, transport, digitalisation/Industry 4.0 and healthcare have been identified as areas of collaboration within the SISP framework.
Since May 2024, the SISP Showroom is hosted at the Business Sweden Jakarta office.
